Alberta Foothills Weather

July 18

What an amazing night of electrical mayhem!
A big low rolled in last night around 9pm, firing up cells all along the foothills and spinning them off to the NE.
We went out to see the first line roll in just before 10.

A very nice display which moved off to the north. Then we got a break for a few hours… until around midnight, then all hell broke loose. The wind came up and the lightning was non-stop for an hour partnered with torrential rain.
Then a break for half an hour. Then another deluge of rain and constant lightning for an hour. This continued on and off until now, it just stopped, I think.
