A cold front rolled in from the NW this afternoon, sparking up a nice line of thunderstorms all the way from the foothills in the west to Wetaskiwin in the east, moving southeast. We went out to intercept west of Sylvan Lake and watched a nice shelf cloud build up.

More noctilucent clouds!
Since seeing them for the first time, now I have been watching for them every night. I must say I am surprised to see them again this soon, but certainly not disappointed! They really are amazing looking things.

Happy Canada Day!
Went out to the mud bogs at Dickson today. Great fun and a real good turnout. Beautiful weather for getting muddy today.
Just got home from a nice fireworks show in Spruceview.

These are noctilucent clouds. Apparently they reside at the edge of space, some 80+km up.
Seen them on spaceweather.com before but this is my first sighting. They really are electric popsicle blue!
Amazing. I watched them for over an hour around 2am this morning.
