Alberta Foothills Weather

November 17

Still brown.
The jet stream has been lazily passing weak ridges and troughs along a fairly flat path for weeks now, resulting in quite boring but warm weather. We have not yet had a daily high below zero in November and it hasn’t been below -7 for 2 weeks. This week passed by with waves of warm air pouring across the rockies, and an occasional weak cold front passing by. Had a short shot of freezing rain on the 15th, just enough to turn the deck and sidewalk into a curling rink for the morning.
Models are starting to show some swing to the stream starting next week, which hopefully will allow some larger systems to set up in the near future.
November 17th last year we had enough snow to play in.
