Alberta Foothills Weather

November 23

Stagnant weather here since the last post. We have had a big high sitting just over the mountains to the west keeping all the interesting stuff off to the northeast. Normal temps, +2/-12 with light winds and a few wispy clouds here and there. The snow we were lined up for on the weekend looks like flurries at best now, with another chance for snow Monday night/Tuesday.
The big freeze that the GFS was showing to roll in here next week looks like it might stay mostly to the north and east, but the models don’t agree much on how cold or how far south, or west, it will push. Doesn’t look like we are up for -40 yet but that could change by tomorrow.
I ran across a friendly graphic over at EC’s seasonal forecast page calling for above average precip and normal temps for most of the Alberta foothills over the Nov./07 – Jan./08 period. Temps are good… the precip can start any time now!
