Alberta Foothills Weather

December 3

So much for the wee warmup I was hoping for today. The cold air refuses to give way to the warm push from BC and all the goodies are coasting up and over the arctic dome we are sitting under. Heavy snow out in the mountains, with Banff considering shutting the town down under the 25cm rule and sending everybody to the ski hills.

Warm air has succeeded in pushing over down in the extreme sw corner of Alberta. Waterton park gate was sitting at +5C as of noon local time, while 25 miles to the east, in Cardston, it was -15C. The rest of the province is -15C or colder.

Still a lot of moisture pouring through BC, so hopefully we will get at least a sample of it. I’ll take 30cm today please.
