January 15
We lost snow in the past 24 hours instead of gaining any. After hitting a ridiculous 10.7C yesterday afternoon with a stiff snow eating breeze from the SW, the expected cold front slammed into us at 10pm with 60km winds from the NW. The few tiny flakes that did fall were blown off to Saskatchewan as the northwest wind howled all night with gusts over 70km/h and is still 30G50.
A bit of accumulation to the north, a bit to the south, zilch here and it looks like the foothills didn’t get much either. It was nice of the temperatures to hold up like they did, only getting down to -8 at sunrise which combined with 30G50 winds gave a -16 windchill. Could have been worse for sure.
