Alberta Foothills Weather

February 19

The warm continues and the snow is disappearing quickly. After a windy day Saturday, it has been well above zero for the past two days. +8C yesterday and 10 today, with more above normal temps for this week and if the GFS model is on track, no chance of real cold until the end of the month? Dry this week too, with the first chance of snow showing for Saturday sometime.
Most of the tilled fields around here are getting back to black, stubble fields only have minimal cover. Drifty ditches are the only place to go for a sled around here now, and those have sunk down a lot this weekend.

Not the case where we went Sunday.. out to the foothills with Dave and Lance, a load of Cats in tow.
Plenty of #1 snow out west of Caroline to go for a good full day of snowmobiling. The temperature was perfect, just below zero for the morning and just above for the afternoon. No wind and thin high cloud most of the day kept the perfect snow from getting too soft for good chewing. Could not have been a better day for the first rip of the year. Thanks guys!
