Alberta Foothills Weather

August 2

Nothing interesting weather-wise to report around here since the last post, a bit on the cool side, but generally comfortable and dry.
While out in a nearby canola patch this afternoon shooting some photos with a photog from the Red Deer Advocate, one of our neighbors from the Pine Hill colony stopped by for a chat, hoping we might be insurance adjusters. We got into a discussion about the crops and how they were fairing with the hail this year, he said most of their crops are in great shape but they have suffered a bit of damage here and there, nothing like their fellow colonists experienced near Medicine Hat on the 15th of July. Of the 5,000 acres they farm down there, 1800 still have crops on them and the rest are salad. Also numerous chewed up grain bins and silos, roofing torn off barns and shops, many trees lost.
This reminded me of a few photos that arrived in my email with no mention of who the photographer was that took them, the only info was July 15, from the Hat. I don’t like to post stuff from the blue, but some of these shots are so amazing I must share. If these are your images, or if you know who took them, please let me know.
