October 8th – Indian Summer scenery

I hope I can remember how to run this thing, it’s been a while.

About a week after the last post the weather turned cold, wet and grey, lasting through most of Sucktember, right up to the start of autumn. It’s been warm and dry for the most part since summer ended.
Some family business in early September focused attention to other places than the weather and this blog, it’s been difficult for some reason to find something worth posting about since.

We had a nice crop of leaves really turning some nice colors, but before we could get some clear skies for a tour, the wind came along and removed them all in the first two sunny days in a month.

We have had the chance over the past two weekends to finally get out for a few trips out west, Ya Ha Tinda on the 25th and Siffleur Falls last weekend. There were still some nice patches of color around Bighorn Falls, but by the time we got out the Abraham Lake way, there was not much left for leaves on the Aspens.

I finally got around to crunching up the weather station numbers, where was summer? (Link)
The hottest day of the year in the yard(so far) is May 18 at 27.6C. This is the first year in the 15 we’ve been here that not one severe storm passed over. Sundre got it all this year.
Not much to see. No auroras, no nice waves yet. Soon I hope.

Thanks for the nice notes checking to see if we were still alive 🙂
